So no sooner had I my new lens in my sticky grasp when my entire camera went kaput. Gone. Utterly dead. It has now been sent away for repair (hopefully) but sadly my favourite season of the year will be pretty much over by the time I have a decent camera again. First I’d like to introduce our meat birds: These chaps came to us as chicks in July and have been growing fast ever since. They are a commercial breed called Cornish Cross and they are designed to grow quickly and put meat on the breast….
So the last time I showed pictures of the pigs they were pretty titchy, not so much now… To give a little context those troughs that the pigs are happily snuffling in were too big for them just two months ago, they actually had to climb in for the first week.
