Making Spaces

Making Spaces

When I’m not complaining about my health or lying around feeling rubbish, I have enjoyed obsessing over the write up for this e-course which looks fabulous.  Not in my budget right now (those jabs won’t pay for themselves) but I will be investing in her book when it comes out in the summer.  I love the idea of allowing environment to shape experience and looking at the gorgeous pics on the Playful Learning website had me hooked on the idea…

Say what you see

Say what you see

Unsurprisingly, given our homeschooling vibe, we are working on Huwyl learning to read right now.  He is 5, I’m a literature lover, no surprises.  I’m trying to take a reasonably child-led approach with a bit of nudging and encouragement from Mummy and Daddy and so far, so good.  I love that Huwyl is beginning to notice words all around him (in the corner of a tv show, on the coach in the next lane of traffic, in the books we…

Q-tip Pointillism

Q-tip Pointillism

My friend Cheryl sent me this link to an activity on The Artful Parent recently and I knew immediately that I wanted to give it a try!  Apart from being very cute, art history related and using supplies we have in the house, I knew that it could accommodate a 5 years boy and a toddler, of paramount importance round here! The results were really fun and both boys were utterly absorbed.  I expected the novelty to wear off after…

Faery Sleep Spray

Faery Sleep Spray

Over Christmas I had a little bout of making some hand made pressies for friends, one of the things I included for some of the children I know was a Faery Sleep Spray.  Unfortunately I forgot about a couple of special children that I have quite a close relationship with.  Yes, that would be my children.  So I have made up another little batch and thought I would share the process. What you will need: A 30ml spray bottle.  I…
